Lavaughn Arthur Sessions, age 95, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 5, 1917 in McAlpin, FL., to Thomas J. Sessions & Evelyn Starling Sessions. Mr. Sessions was a Suwannee County Clerk of Court for 12 years, a Suwannee County Commissioner, the Mayor of Branford and the Mayor of Trenton. He was a business owner, a farmer, a member of the Mason’s, the Shriner’s, Woodmen of the World and Priscilla Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Evelyn Sessions, 3 sisters: Ernestine White, Celeste Sessions and Edna Mobley, and his son-in-law, Wilbur Bush.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Barnett Sessions of Trenton, FL., a daughter, Betty Bush of Trenton, FL., 2 sons: Lloyd (Jamie) Sessions of Huntsville, AL., and Thomas A. (Charlotte) Sessions of Branford, FL., 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Priscilla Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Black officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Watson Funeral Home.
